Covered bridge photo (Mid-Cities)

Postby Dennis H on Mon May 04, 2009 8:53 pm

Well, somewhere in what we call the Mid-Cities today.
There is a series of photographs in this digitized collection showing the Chicago, Rock Island, & Gulf survey crew on and off the job circa 1902. This would be the rail line the Trinity Railway Express uses today.

Any idea where the covered bridge might have been?

Dennis, I hope you are able to locate where this bridge stood. I was unaware of its having been in the Dallas area ~ knowing only of the covered bridge which once spanned Wilson Creek in Collin County (just outside of McKinney).

Thanks for linking to the image and description. The 'Portal to Texas History' is such a valuable, online collection.
