Dallas Pic 1930

Hi,I acquired an old picture some years ago and it might be a commonly reproduced image.Or not-I don't know.It is a picture that was shot from maybe the 8th floor of a bldg. and aimed down a certain street in Dallas around 1930.Dallas,Texas hand written at the bottom of the proof;then reproduced.I believe it to be a proprietary thing for a presentation. You know-different images for various different branch cities.'Here is our branch in Dallas;here is our branch in Chicago, etc'The pic is pretty big and I don't know how to load it on here and there is no teenager present to help me so........In the foreground on the right is Metropolitan Business College .Across the street,I can just make out a gas station sign that says'Oriental Oil Co.GASOLINE'then,on the same side 'Lloyd's Auto Insurance Sheerin Bradford Co..Then,across the top of a bldg'Kerkau Billiard Parlor'Further down,on the other side'Dan Sonnenth'Anything of Real(Value??a pawn shop maybe?.)There are some other rather large buildings;I just don't recognize them and I have never found anyone else that does.I am just hoping that this meagher description is something that someone instantly recognizes. If not,I'll see about getting it posted somehow.Regards,Stan Radell B.A.Hist.UTA

Interesting. I don't have the computer skills to help, but I would like to see it.

Well, guess what?Haven't been to Dallas for a spell and might not recognize the Adolphus anyway, but on this ol'pic, there was something familiar about this one building.I checked the Baker. That wasn't it.Then the Adolphus. That's it.Since it's on Commerce, then my pic was shot down Commerce at about Akard. From the top of a bldg or out a window.A remarkable ol' pic that I've never seen anywhere else and I wish I could upload it somehow so you could see that part of Dallas as Bonnie and Clyde did.....Big Kahuna

You might try taking a picture of the picture with a digital camera.I did that once with a large book.
