Forum is over capacity????

Postby ernie5823 on Thu Oct 15, 2009 6:16 am

For the past few mornings, I have been getting the following message, "Forum is over capacity. We're currently experiencing a high server load, please try again once the load lightens up. Thank you for your patience.", the first few times I try to log on. It's usually "fixed" by 7:30 or 8:00 (eastern time). I seriously doubt if forum is really that busy, before 7:00 - sometimes before 5:00. Anybody else seen this, or am I only "early bird"?

I usually log in between 7:30 to 8:00am CDT during the week. Have not noticed any messages like that. Yesterday, I experienced some very slow load times.

I usually log on early (before 6 am eastern). Slow loading always, but no more than normal for me (I'm still on dial-up).

I saw that notice once this week. I waited 10 minutes and it loaded right up.

I never log out. I'm on dial-up, like adam. .........The past couple of days have been very slow to load the ads and images, but it all came up very quickly for me just now.

An aside.... The DHS Phorum has not been accessible for me the past several days. Has it crashed again?

I also stay logged in but when I tried to read a post I got the message that the forums server was overloaded. After several tries over a hours time finally got through. I have been in touch with Tony Hazlet at DHS about the Phorum and have been regularly posting what I found out on this forum. The last time just yesterday. Guess I'm not on the"IN" list so my post aren't read

I stay logged on here also, but often get "kicked off" for no apparent reason. I also stay logged on to DHS Phorum. but haven't been able to access it for about two weeks. From your conversation with Tony Hazlet, sounds like nobody at DHS is paying attention.

I am often on the board as early as Ernie or Adam or in the middle of the night like fred the night owl. However, I do not stay logged on. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to raise the board but I figure that is a glitch in my computer. I don't think I've ever seen the "over capacity" message,

Like several others I have been unable to get on the "old" board lately.

I talked to Tony again this morning and he said he was waiting to hear back from the server and he would EMAIL me with what he finds out. Hopefully later today or tomorrow. I will post on here if and when I find out anything. I have become rather dependent on the old Boards archives to answer questions and really miss it.
