Hawk

I live in a fairly wooded area of Richmond Va, not too far from the rivuh.
I've always been fascinated by raptors so feel lucky to be able to see bald eagles, ospreys, owls and hawks in my neighborhood. Here a photo of juvenile red-tailed hawk that was calling to another in the area. Very noisy fellow. He was easily a hundred feet up

you can also find a video in my Hawk set on Flickr that I shot while he was calling to the other hawk

Aww ... he's cute :)

I have an owl friend out this way -- a barred owl, I think -- but never can snap her picture since she only comes around at night

Lovely, raptor-themed songs:

The Indian and the Eagle, by Knifewing Segura, and The Eagle Song, by the Imperials :)

I forgot to add The Eagle and the Hawk by John Denver. Beautiful.

RIP ~ troubadour who remembered North Texas as a barren land riddled with cockleburs and mesquite trees.

Hey, there's a hawk in my backyard :!: (or, just was) ~ red-tailed, broad-winged and trying our these new, blustery fall winds.

Synchronicity ...

Do we have that around here?
