Job Offer

Postby Paul Brancato on Sun Oct 04, 2009 6:37 pm

I finally got a job offer Thursday. By the time I start on the 26th I'll have been off 12 months.
To tell the truth I enjoyed the first three months. Needed a break, I guess and I did manage to complete some old projects around here, and I learned how to cook.
The last nine have been a mixture of boredom and frustration.
Anyhow, it feels good.

Good news, Paul!! Didn't even know that you were one of the many unemployed.

As one of many of us who have experienced periods of joblessness in our lives, I can relate to the emotional and financial hardships that it brings. I was in a similar situation in the early '60s and then my wife lost her job because she was pregnant. Things didn't cost as much then as they do now, but it's all relative. Tough to get by when there's little or no income or savings.

Glad you were able to take care of some "projects" and kept plugging away at getting another job. Best of luck to you!!!

Thanks to all for the good wishes.
I was actually very lucky. A lot of the folks that got laid off with me at the first job (end of July 2008) are still trying to pay for a house and raise kids. These are the people who are having a hard time with this economy. Our son is grown and the house is payed for. And my wife works. So while I'm not old enough or rich enough to retire, I did have the luxury of not having to worry about a fore closure, or school tuition.
