The Astor was a small neighborhood theater, part of the Foy's Neighborhood Theater chain which opened November 6, 1919 as the Rialto in a trolley-stop neighborhood center at 7th street and Bishop Avenue in Dallas' suburb of Oak Cliff.
Foy's was a chain of small neighborhood theaters, all at trolley-stop corners in Dallas. They included the Columbia, Ideal, and Colonial Theaters.
The theater later was bought by the Robb-Rowley Chain in Dallas, then closed in 1947.

The Midway Theater opened in 1922 in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas on Jefferson Boulevard near Beckley Avenue. It had 550 seats and a Barton 2/6 Organ. The instrument was moved in 1931 to the new 2000 seat Texas Theater, down the street.
The Midway was operated by "Uncle Mac" McHenry and later in 1948 by Robb & Rowley Theaters.
It converted to talkies in 1933. It was closed in approximately 1970. The building now houses a Mexican restaurant.
