Oil & Water, by Incubus:
You and I are like oil and water
And we've been trying, trying, trying
Ohhhhhhh... to mix it up.

Water & Oil, by Ziggy Marley
They want to condemn the innocent
For crimes which we did not committ
They want to get good people mix up
In their bag of tricks

But water and oil can't mix
Water and oil don't mix

10. Little Canoe ~ The School Girl was a musical comedy, in two acts, composed by Leslie Stuart (with additional songs by Paul Rubens) with a book by Henry Hamilton and Paul M. Potter, and lyrics by Charles H. Taylor and others. The musical was first produced in 1903 at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London and ran for 333 performances there, Starring Edna May, Marie Studholme and George Grossmith, Jr. The show also played successfully in New York and on the national and international touring circuits.

The most famous song from this show was "My Little Canoe."

Just a boy and a girl in a little canoe
With the moon shinin' all around.
He plied his paddle so...
you couldn't even hear a sound.

So they talked and they talked
'til the moon grew dim.
He said you better kiss me
or get out and swim.

So whatcha gonna do in a little canoe
with the moon shinin' all around?
Just a boy and a girl in a little canoe
with the moon shinin' all around.

Ho plied his paddle so...
you couldn't hear a sound.

So they talked and they talked
'til the moon grew dim.
He said you better kiss me.
or get out and swim.

So whatcha gonna do in a little canoe
With the moon shinin' all a...
the boats goin' all a...
the girls swimmin' all around?

Window lyrics

I was staring out the window
The whole time he was talking to me
It was a filthy pane of glass
I couldn't get a clear view

As he went on and on
It wasn't the outside world I could see
Just the filthy pane that I was looking through

So I had to break the window
It just had to be
Better that I break the window
Than him or her or me

I was never focused on just one thing
My eyes got fixed when my mind got soft
It may looked like I'm concentrated on a very clear view

But I'm as good as asleep
I bet you didn't know
It takes a lot of it away if you do

So I had to break the window
It just had to be
Better that I break the window
Than him or her or me

So I had to break the window
It just had to be
Better that I break the window
Than him or her or me

Looking Glass lyrics

There's a place where the garden can take you
Through the looking glass
Find a way with the plants - they can take you
To your path
Chase away all the funny pain
Down the rabbit hole
And another world awaits behind the little door

You can go ask Alice
Just why the hatter is mad

All are welcome in Wonderland
'Till the queen screams off with your head
And life will always get twisted
When you're living it through the looking glass

There's a that cat smiles like
The crescent moon
And the caterpillar that needs a light
On top of his mushroom

You can go ask Alice
Just why the hatter is mad

Next time you see the white rabbit run free
You might not want to follow
Lose your youth, cause beauty is truth
It's just harder to swallow

So go and ask Alice
Why the hatter is mad
She'll turn when you see her
And laugh

Oh, Ronnie ... I know! Adam and Steve (especially!) are fast :!: I have to repost my songs a couple times sometimes when they're on. But I don't care ... I'd rather play this than Farmtown, etc. (don't shoot me, Auntie T!). Besides, almost any song about Texas would fit the category at the moment :) (except maybe All My Exes Live in ... well, you know where 8) )

Lyrics:
The day we meet again
I'll be waiting there
I'll be waiting there for you
Cos the years have been so lonely
Like a dog without a home
It's dangerous when you find out
You've been drinking on your own

The day we meet again
We will walk in peace
Thru the garden down the road
Where the mist of time is lifting
See it rising in the air
Like the shadow I was chasing
When I looked it wasn't there
Oh no

But just in case you're wondering
What was really on my mind
It wasn't what you took my love
It's what you left behind

And just in case you're wondering
Will it really be the same
You know we're only living for
The day me meet again

So hold on - and don't let go
Time heals - you know - I know

The day we meet again
I'll be waiting there
I'll be waiting there for you
Cos the years have been so lonely
Like a dog without a home
It's dangerous when you find out
You've been drinking on your own

The day we meet again
We will walk in peace
Thru the garden down the road
Where the mist of time is lifting
See it rising in the air
Like the shadow I was chasing
When I looked it wasn't there
Hold on baby don't let go

Operator, well could you help me place this call
See the number on the matchbook is old an faded
She's living in L.A
With my best old ex friend Ray
Guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated

(CHORUS)
But isn't that the way they say it goes
But let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell them I'm fine and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real
But that's not the way it feels

Operator, well could you help me place this call
Cause I can't read the number that you just gave me
There's something in my eyes
You know it happens every time
I think about the love that I thought would save me

(REPEAT CHORUS)
No, no, no, no, that's not the way it feels

Operator, let's forget about this call
There's no one there I really wanted to talk to
Thank you for your time
Oh you've been so much more than kind
You can keep the dime

(REPEAT CHORUS)

New topic: Anything in the title or lyric about a Lullaby, Cradlesong, Evening song, baby soothing song, or any type of soft music, lulling tune.

Wiki quote:
A lullaby is a soothing song, usually sung to children before they go to sleep, with the intention of speeding that process. As a result they are often simple and repetitive. Lullabies can be found in every human culture and seem to have been used at least from the ancient period.[1] The English term lullaby is thought to come from 'lu lu' or 'la la' sound made by mothers or nurses to calm chidren, and 'by' or 'bye bye', either another lulling sound, or a term for good night.[2] Until the modern era lullabies were usually only recorded incidentally in written sources.

1. The Roman nurses' lullaby 'Lalla, Lalla, Lalla, aut dormi, aut lacte' is recorded in a scholium on Persius and may be the oldest to survive.[1] It is also speculated that the term may come from "Lilith-bye" or "Lilith-Abi" (Hebrew for "Lilith, begone").[3] In theory, mothers would sing a song to their children at night to keep Lilith, an evil angel, away from their children.

New topic: Anything in the title or lyric about a Lullaby, Cradlesong, Evening song, baby soothing song, or any type of soft music, lulling tune.
2. West Texas Lullaby - Toni Price
