The blurb about the book mentions the Plano station hich has been preserved. Just where is that station and what exit off of North Central gets you there? Perhaps this station has been mentioned before in other threads about interurban operations but I do not recall it at the moment.

Also, seems like I remember previous mention of an interurban station surviving in Richardson, was that for this same line?

Yep, both Plano and Richardson were served by the Texas Electric on its way to Sherman and Denison (the northern stretch of the Texas Electric was actually, originally, known as the Denison & Sherman Railway Co,). Richardson station seems to have been a block south of Belt Line Road, on Polk Street. Plano's looks to be at about 13th Street (relying on maps in Myers THE TEXAS ELECTRIC RAILWAY). Not sure what the closest exit off Central would be, but the preserved car and station in Plano are visible from the DART line, and IIRC, are within convenient walking distance from one of the stops in Plano..

On the morning of the seventh of December, 1941 my mother and some friends rode the interurban from Denison to Dallas to see the Christmas decorations. They had been there just a few minutes when they were told, "All hell's broke loose" and got on the next train, packed with terrified and bewildered travelers, and returned to Denison.

Going north on US-75 take the 15th exit in Plano and turn right. The old station is a couple of bocks on the left. It's in easy walking distance from old downtown Plano so the stop in worth the time and effort.

There's still a street named Interurban in Richardson. It's to the east of 75. Take the Beltline exit, drive east and you'll cross it.

Good info, Ronnie.

The story regarding 12-07-41 is interesting and fit in perfectly with the topic.
