Sunset HS 1939: Clyde Howard, Jr.

Postby Dennis H on Tue Aug 04, 2009 9:02 pm

I was trying to look through my father's Sunset yearbook tonight. Looks like the pages got wet many years ago and are stuck together after drying. [Any remedies for that? Freezing it, perhaps? Or too late for that?]

Anyway... I remembered I had my dad's 50th reunion book which contains names, addresses, and a brief biography on those still alive in 1989 who the reunion committee could track down. Thumbing through it I found the name Clyde W. Howard, Jr. No, that can't be OUR Clyde Howard! Sure enough there was Clyde III listed as the son of Clyde Jr. Is that OURS?

I'm betting that's the dad of OUR Clyde who was a Sunset grad in 1961, if I recall correctly. Clyde's mom and dad lived on Searcy Dr. in OC, just one street South of where I grew up on Bentley.

I'll bet OUR Clyde would like to have a copy of that about his dad.

Thanks for posting the info here, Dennis!!

It was indeed Clyde's family. He is probably on a vacation trip now that he had talked about a few months back so we'll remind him to look when he returns.

No, not on vacation. Yet. Gadget has been sick, though. Will be leaving sometime in the later part of October, be gone two or three weeks, depending. And yes - that is my Dad, who died in 2005.

I had at least one teacher Dad did, who remembered him. Consuelo Cogdell, that was.

And yes, I'd love to have a copy of whatever thay had to say about him.
