Linking to other topics

Another tip: If you want to refer to another topic, or another sub-Forum, you can put the address in your message.

Simply go into that other topic, and then highlight your "Address" (URL) from the top of the browser, and copy it (CTRL-C) to the clipboard.

Then when typing in your new message, hit the "URL" button on the upper right. A "" surrounded by squared brackets will be inserted. Behind the right squared bracket paste your link (CTRL-V) there. Then at the end of your link, hit URL again, and a closing "" will be inserted.

For example, here is where Peter suggested putting in an embedded image: http://dallashistory.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1322

Clicking on this link above, will open a new window and take you to Peter's message. (Including DHS Message Board links, if you find an old topic you want someone to go look at.)

You can do this with just about any site on the web.
