It's official: Reunion Arena to close June 30
2:38 PM Tue, Jun 10, 2008

Dave Levinthal

That's the unanimous recommendation of the Dallas City Council's Economic Development Committee, which just emerged from a 20-minute closed session.

The full City Council may -- or may not -- rubber stamp this recommendation. Staff says the Economic Development Comittee's recommendation may be enough to proceed.

Bottom line: Reunion Arena's closure is now effectively final.

I'm wondering if they ever finished paying the loan to build the place. I bet Laura Miller knows :wink: They'll bulldoze it probably.

I have and idea for this building;

Paramutial Chawawa Racing!

And sell tacos and such at the concession stands.

This would go over BIG and be a good tourist attraction for Dallas! :D

The demolition contract for Reunion was awarded this week. I think they said it will be gone before the end of next year.
