Here is one I took of the Arcadia theater back in 2002 before it burned

Scott... that's a great picture. I'm glad you got it prior to the fire.

Thanks Mike. I was invited to the Kilgore Gallery to photography the event Thrusday Evening. I also sold that very print framed and matted for $100. The owner of the Gallery bought one of the Arcadia signs. He was the one that bought my Arcadia print. I had another that I donated to Belmont Neighood Association for thier raffle.

a lot of the homeless claim that they are Viet Nam War veterans in order to play upon people's sympathy. in fact many are just simply bums

It was a card from the VA hospital that he used for an id.
It had no photo, so he could have been lying.
who knows.

Scott

I don't know if they all do, but my VA ID card DOES have my picture on it - not a very good picture, but it's there. Also has "swipeable" mag strip on the back.

The Western Union BLDG that's suppose to be torn down, wasn't that involved in someway with Oswald? Or was that the other downtown location?

John,

The Western Union that was east of the old Dallas Police Department (white building, with Mason triangle on it), was where Jack Ruby wired $25 to one of his girls over in Ft Worth. He sent the wire at 11:17 on Sunday, Nov 24, and at 11:20 he shot and killed Owald.

The office was remodeled over the last several months, and is now a different kind of business. From what I understand though, the block being torn down for the Main St park, is the block WEST of the old Dallas Police / Municipal Courts. This Western Union office was EAST of it.

Is this the "Western Union building" you are thinking of?

Scott, I love your photos. I am just so glad someone wants to share with us, I don't care if they are thumbnail or huge. I really liked the one with flowers. The one of the homeless man made me sad. Maybe I am gulliable, as you seem to be but at least we have a heart. I was a GCO at our tele. co. for years and had to be hard hearted at times. I think I became jaded and did a lot of praying to be caring again. Now I feel for people again and will never go back to being suspicious, in the end if they lie, they pay not me. Sorry if I stepped on any toes, did not mean too.
